24th August, 2017. A broad review of Thailand:
As many of you know, I love food. I especially love brownies. I also love Thai food. (And Mexican and Indian, but that’s not part of this story).
Some long time readers might remember how much of my traveling involves trying to find the perfect brownie. I got pretty damn close in Padang Bai, Bali, Indonesia.
But Thailand… Oh, Thailand. I’m on my fourth brownie (at least), and they are all so very, very disappointing. They don’t make brownies here. They make fluffy chocolate cake and cut in into squares. They taste decent enough, sure. If you want cake. I want a brownie 🙁
Best brownie in Thailand: Tiny Hut Bakery, found at stall during the Sunday Market in Chiang Mai. Not “proper” brownies – as a brownie on its’ own, it wasn’t anything special. However, they have a wonderful selection of very decadent brownies. Peanut Butter frosting/mousse, with brownie bits and chocolate chips and a pretzel on top. Very good.
Not as good as in Topi Inn 2, Padang Bai, Bali.
Second best brownie in Thailand: McDonalds. At least the “ice cream” to put on top is cheap.
